Property Engineer at Stockholm City Cemetery Administration

The Stockholm Cemetery Administration is responsible for burial services in Stockholm. The Cemetery Administration conducts burial and service operations with high ethical standards and is responsible for 12 cemeteries, 13 chapels, one ceremony building, and 2 crematoria with significant cultural-historical values.

As a property engineer in the building and landscape unit within the Cemetery Administration, you will be part of a team where you will work closely with the administration's existing property engineer and property technician, as well as landscape engineers, landscape architects, conservators, and arborists.

Our property portfolio
The Cemetery Administration conducts burial and service operations with high ethical standards. We are responsible for 12 cemeteries, including 13 chapels, one ceremony building, 2 crematoria, and one cold storage.
In addition to these, there are staff buildings, storage buildings, and other buildings. A total of over approximately 50 buildings.
The majority of our buildings have significant cultural-historical values and are subject to the Cultural Heritage Act, including the World Heritage Site Skogskyrkogården. Our cremation operations include technically advanced systems.
Your role
Your task is important for managing our property holdings and developing our working methods. As a property engineer, you are responsible for operations and their installations.
The position involves varied work with many points of contact, including daily contact with suppliers and employees within the administration.
Your tasks include, among other things, being responsible for:
- property operations
- maintenance planning
- control and regulation in properties
- tasks related to electrical responsibility and fire issues
- ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
- public procurement
- project management
- technical support to other operations
Your competence and experience
We are looking for someone who:
- is a trained engineering graduate or has relevant vocational training. Alternatively, you have acquired equivalent competence through several years of experience in a similar role
- has current experience from a similar role
- experience in control and regulation technology
- experience in contract law
- experience in project management within construction and installation
- has a valid driver's license (B)
- has a good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing
It is advantageous if you have:
- experience in municipal/public administration
- knowledge and application of LOU (The Public Procurement Act)
- experience from technical management
- experience working with properties in cultural environments

In the work with technology and management within burial services, unexpected situations always arise in sensitive operations, which requires good collaboration skills, great patience, and a solution-oriented approach.
Last but not least, an economic awareness and understanding of costs, revenues, and efficiency from a property economic perspective are required.
